Ground was broken Thursday, May 5, for the new Shooting Club Plaza & Access Storage near Boerne. Standing in a Texas field, shovel in hand, Sarah Hamilton, owner of the 35,970 square foot facility, was joined by family, friends and well-wishers as she turned the traditional heap of earth.
Joe Polasek of the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce toasted Ms Hamilton and her ambitious project. The chamber was well represented by chamber president Paula White, by Beth Coyle, Krysta Mc Daniel, several other chamber members. In attendance was general contractor Eric Debner with Ramrock, a residential and commercial builder.
The metal structure & erection will be provided by Cross Metal Buildings of Bulverde, Texas, north of San Antonio. Donna May, president of Cross Metal Buildings stated, “It has been a pleasure to work with Sarah on this venture. She is expanding her business horizons in utilizing self storage as a lucrative business investment. I’m looking forward to completing this, and hopefully many projects with Sarah.” Also present to celebrate the ground breaking was Cross Vice President of Operations Maurice Ferrell, and Operations Manager Jason Setzer.
Site work will begin on Monday, May 9, with building construction slated to start within 2 to 3 weeks with completion and opening in the fall of this year. Located at 105 Shooting Club Road, the complex will incorporate 9,750 square feet of office space, 19,500 square feet of storage, and 6,750 square feet of boat and RV storage. The storage facility will offer climate control and non-climate control units varying from 100 square feet roll-up door units to warehouse storage.
“The ground breaking was very exciting for me. I’ve been met with encouragement and enthusiasm from everyone involved and from everyone I’ve talked to,” shared Sarah Hamilton. “I’m chomping on the bit and raring to go. We’ll be pre-leasing office space immediately. This will allow for finish-out to suit the tenant’s needs. Now I can’t wait until the grand opening.”
